Reminds me of Harpies, scabies, rabies, Furies, something scary and hairy. Wouldn't want to date this creature either.

Rules for 2010 Halloween Poetry Contest

PREMISE: Submit a 10 line poem with a grand total of 31 words (any number of words per line as long as the total number of words in the poem is 31, stanza breaks count as lines) that fits any of the themes listed below by 10-29-10 with an electronic payment of $10.31 via http://paypal.com to kingfisher1031@charter.net (paste poem into message box or send in a separate email). If your poem is chosen the winner you get 100.31% of the contest money submitted.

EVERYONE WHO ENTERS AND EVERYONE WHO COMMENTS ON ALL ENTRIES will receive a chapbook featuring all of the poems entered in the contest. All entrants will be invited to read their poems and the winner will be announced on 10-30-10 between 3 and 5pm inside the backroom of the Santa Catalina Branch of the Pasadena Public Library on 999 E. Washington Blvd. (then afterwards on this website).

THEMES: Poem must be abhorrent, abominable, alarming, appalling, apparitional, awful, batlike, beastly, bizarre, blood-curdling, boney, cadaverous, catlike, chilling, Chuckyesque, clownish, corpselike, crawly, creepy, cruel, dangerous, dastardly, deadly, deathlike, detestable, devilish, diabolical, disagreeable, disgusting, disquieting, disturbing, Dracularian, dreadful, eerie, fantastic, fearful, fearsome, Frankensteinish, frightening, ghastly, ghostly, ghoulish, grim, grisly, gruesome, hair-raising, haunted, headless, heinous, hellish, hideous, horrendous, horrifying, illusory, insubstantial, Jack O'Lanterny, knifelike, loathsome, lurid, maniacal, macabre, magical, moony, morbid, mummyesque, murderous, mysterious, nightmarish, ominous, owlish, pale, perilous, petrifying, phantasmal, Potterish, preternatural, pumpkinated, revolting, Samheinesque, scary, shadowy, sharp, shocking, skeletonic, spiritual, spooky, spectral, spidery, spine-chilling, strange, supernatural, superstitious, terrible, terrifying, traumatic, treacherous, unearthly, unhealthy, unnatural, unnerving, unsound, warlock-laden, weird, wicked, willies-inducing, witchy, wolflike, wraithlike, and/or wraithy.

VOTING: Positive comments on each poem will be a 100.31% factor in choosing the winning poem. So tell your friends to comment...limit one comment per person per poem. Deadline to make a comment is 10:31am PST on 10/30/09. Oh, and you'll need to sign up with Google in order to be able to make comments, but that's totally free and it also enables you to create your own Blogger websites (which this is), utterly free as well.
