Eleanor Higgins

wrinkled thumbs
wrap an ivory throat
chest rising she flails
he loosens his grip
she heaves coughs
allowed another breath
she leaps
raises a gun
chooses death,
but now . . . or later?

  1. She chooses her won death? Or the serial killer's? Shoot him now? Or later? Hit him in the heart for a quick and easy death? Or a slow and painful progression of wounding, slow bleeding, shots.
